Financial planners have always said about losses in the stock market, to “ride it out”, and that the losses will be made up over time. Seniors are, in a lot of cases, over 65 and don’t have time to “ride it out”.

A lot of seniors today are extremely concerned about the decreasing values of their 401K’s and their IRA’s. They are worried about their retirement, and if they will be able to live the way they have planned to live for many years if they keep losing their investment values.

On the other hand, if they don’t need their investments to live on, they are looking at what they had planned to leave to their children. Losses in the stock market are still an important part of their concern.
